This position involves complex and diversified tasks needed to support the Assistant State Attorneys assigned to the Felony Trial Unit. The selected candidate must be organized, work well under pressure and time constraints, and be able to handle confidential matters with the utmost discretion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance of all felony case files using internal Case Management System
Receive/transfer and track the whereabouts of all case files
Typing, data entry, filing and other clerical tasks
Scan and attach all required case related documents into internal Case Management System
Issue Subpoenas and process e-filings
Telephone communications with victims, witnesses, and law enforcement personnel
Maintain the attorney’s calendar and schedule depositions
Receive, sort, and distribute daily time sensitive mail
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant State Attorneys or the Support Staff Supervisor
Qualifications:
At least two (2) years clerical or secretarial experience
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet daily deadlines
Knowledge of case filing procedures between the State Attorney’s Office and the Clerk’s Office a plus
Candidate must be able to work until 5:00 p.m. daily and may be asked to work later hours if the Assistant State Attorney is in trial
